What Can I Expect?

Going to the Chiropractor is a new experience for many of us.  You have come to us for maybe we’ve heard through a friend or have done some research online.  On the other hand, it’s possible that you are just fed up with living in pain, and it’s time to do something about it.  In either case, your first visit to the Chiropractor will be about getting to know the Chiropractor and discussing your history, current condition, and goals.

First Chiropractic Visit:

Health History – As with any doctor’s visit, you’ll start by filling out new patient paperwork.  Your Health Resume tells us about your current complaints and your history of injuries or illnesses.

Consultations – We will review your health resume and take a further history of spinal impacts, including auto accidents, work, recreational, and sports injuries, along with the details of your current work and daily activities.

Clinical Examination – Your examination will include a center of gravity assessment, a thorough evaluation of posture, spinal palpation, and range of motion.  These tests will help determine if subluxations are affecting your health and function.

X-Rays and Analysis– We will perform a physical examination and most likely take a few x-rays to assess your current state of health.  Once this is complete, we’ll look at the overall results of our conversation and the exams.

Report of Findings

Once our doctor completes their exam, they will review the overall results.  The doctor will then be able to give you a detailed Report of Findings and answer any questions you may have.  Those questions may include the following:

  • How can chiropractic help me?
  • What will be the frequency of my visits?
  • All financial questions regarding the cost of care.

Once the doctor develops a plan of action, we then together will devise a plan of action to match your health goals. Then, when you are completely satisfied and ready to move forward, we will begin care.

Treatment

If you decide to move forward with care, you will receive your first chiropractic adjustment.  There is a wide variety of adjustment techniques, and we will tailor your treatment to the one that works best for you.
